Aarhus has been truly blessed with a butt-load of great shows in the last weeks, reason to celebrate for sure. I personally have felt like I’ve been inside our fantastic venues more than my own living room this month – which is not really too much of an exaggeration! This Wednesday we have another potentially great gig set up in Atlas – the very awesome Dungen – all the way from next door in Sweden. It’s not very often you hear of Scandinavian language bands doing much outside of…well…Scandinavia but Dungen has been steadily gathering a following over the last 15 years or so – international festivals, major label releases and late night American talk shows have all been “Sweded” by the swirling musical adventures of Dungen – a live act masterminded by Gustav Ejstes – in my opinion – one of the most brilliant musical minds to ever come out of Sweden – and you know there are a lot of those. Dungen’s music swings over the course of their impressive album discography from psychedelic, prog, jangle, acid jazz and stoner genres. They certainly are not easily pigeon-holed – but they could possibly be looked upon as being ‘proto’ ...
